Another year goes by....

So another year has gone by and my, how the time flies when so much has been happening.

To make a very long, yet interesting and great past year a short story.... Ryan and I are doing well. We have been very blessed this past year.

We started hardcore searching for a house November of last year and there were a few let downs and yet, we knew it was time to buy a house (or move to Africa, even though that was more my idea than his). So, after much searching, many offers, and all the other craziness, we became homeowners on May 31! God is so good! We have throughly enjoyed getting our "nest" together and sharing in our joy and blessing from God!

I guess that's the biggest thing that's happened for us this past year. So, for those few that's been looking for a new post, here it is. Ha ha Enjoy!

Life as I know it

Well, with keeping people up to date on Facebook, I have completely abandoned my blog. Sorry. Lots has happened since last April. HA! I haven't written since then. So, hey, at least it wasn't a WHOLE year.

Ry turned 25 last year and I think he enjoys it. He's a guy so he doesn't really say much about his age. I continually tell him that I'm a cougar for marrying a younger guy. Ha ha Yeah, I'll be the big 3-0 this year. Although, a lot of people freak out about it, I'm totally calm. Actually, I can't really believe that I'll be 30. I feel like I should still be 24 or 25. Only I want the wisdom of 29/30 with me. I guess we can't have it all.

We also added an addition to our family, but he may be leaving us for another home soon. Mr. Ulrich is great, but he's too much for an apartment and I don't think we can handle it much longer. We're hoping he can get a home with a big back yard to play in. He'd love that. We are taking him to training courses though to help him with his social issues. He just takes a long time to adjust to other people and dogs. What can I say.... when we got him we were (still are) in our honeymoon phase, so we didn't have much company to socialize him with. He's a sweetheart though. I love cuddling with him when he's in his "lovey" mood.

We recently purchased two new to us cars. A 2010 Chevy HHR and a 2002 Saturn Vue. God definitely blessed us during that situation. We had already been looking to trade in Ryan's car because we live in Ohio and winter and a Z28 convertible Camaro does not mix well. Then Herbie (my Civic) died. What fun. Thankfully, we were blessed to have a few weeks of me driving my Mom's van while we looked around and God just did everything all at once. What a blessing!

Life has been amazing though. God has never failed us. We are blessed and so thankful for all He's done for us.

Hmmm.... well, most of you knew that my Uncle Ronnie passed away on March 29th, it's always bittersweet when your loved ones, who know God, pass away. On one hand, you're thankful that they aren't in any more pain and that they are in Heaven where you know that you'll see them again. On the other hand, you'll miss them and it's okay to grieve. Even the Bible says so. My uncle was hilarious. He would always come up with the silliest stories. He never did get me that monkey he said he'd get me. Ha ha He was always jolly and definitely would have and did make a good Santa. :)

Sunday, April 3, was the 2 year anniversary of my friend Matt's death. It didn't hit me so hard on Sunday as it did on Monday. I think sometimes we keep ourselves busy just so we don't focus on something and in this day and age it's SO easy to keep busy. Randomly throughout the years though, he would be on my heart and that would persuade me to pray for his family and friends who were so connected and whom he made such an impact on. I can still hear his infectious laugh sometimes. It makes me smile.

Oh yes, our dear friends Jennifer and Brandon are expecting Preston and Alexis in May, personally, I think they will be April babies, but that's just me. Also, our other dear friends, Beth and John are expecting a new little one in October! How exciting! No, don't even think about it. We're not ready for children of our own, but no doubt that I will enjoy the new joys that are coming. :) My other dear friend Heather and her family moved to Florida last fall, that was difficult. I miss them something fierce, but I am happy for them. Yet another dear friend (yes, I have quite a few), Andrea and her family moved back to Ohio. I can't wait to be able to go visit her soon. I'm so thankful she's close again!

In August we will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. It's unbelievable. Time has went by so fast. I am even more in love with Ry than I was then. It's amazing when you think you love someone soooo much and yet it grows even more. The great part is that he loves me just as much and he never ceases to tell me or show me that love. Sometimes it's a glance, a touch, a smile, or a kiss that just tells me how much more in love he is with me every day. God's love is just the same. I wish the whole world knew about the amazing love of God. I can honestly say that my understanding of God's love has grown since I've been married. It's such a parrallel of what God feels for His bride, His church.

Well, that's all I can think to really write about, so at least you are updated and I'll do my best to keep it under a year again. Hee hee

7 1/2 months later.....

Well, hello, hello everyone! I have no idea who still reads my blog, but here's to hoping that there is still someone out there. =P

Anyway, life is grand. I am loving marriage. God is so good to His children. That's the bottom line. Yes, there have been those little things that you find out after you're married, but in all honesty, there has been nothing major and we work with the differences and not fight against them. It's great. It makes us stronger as a married couple. Our families are doing great too! We are all so blessed!

It's still funny sometimes though, when I still think as an individual (I mean, hello, I was pretty much alone for 28 years) and try to "take care of things" by myself. Then I finally share the load with Ryan and he reminds me that is what marriage is about. He will pray and speak over me and because of the covenant we have with God and each other, it's amazing how much brighter the situation looks. No one is perfect and I definitely realize that a lot personally. The key, however, is to notice what needs to change and change it.

I have recently realised that I have gained some post-wedding pounds, but am happy to say that we are working on that. My hubby bought me a new computer AND a new Wii. The Wii is for EA Active. You should look it up if you haven't heard of it. It really is an awesome workout and it's fun. I love it!

There are lots of changes coming for our little family, for the good. Just be praying that we make the right God sent directional changes that we need to. I'm excited about it and so is Ryan and we feel a confirmation in the spirit to go forward. So, in Jesus name it will be so!

Jasper is doing well, turning gray. It's kinda funny. He's healthy and loves to play. We call him our, "brown eyed, black haired child." No worries, no human children in our near future. :)

Anyway, I just wanted to update you all on the happenings and hopefully I will be able to keep up a little more on here, so check for updates or I'll post them on my facebook.

Newlyweddedness..... (yep, this word only exists in Mary's dictionary)

Can I just say that I LOVE married life? Well, I guess that I can because this is my blog which gives me the right to say whatever I want. Well, we have been married for 2 months (tomorrow) and I couldn't be more ecstatic about life and the future. God is amazing. I'm tellin' ya. He will never cease to amaze me in His consideration for His children and for giving them even beyond their dreams and desires. It's awesome!!!!

I had the amazing privilege to be in one of my best friends weddings a couple of weeks ago. Andrea Lorenz is now Andrea Dennis!!!! Woo hoo! I'm so happy for her! :) It was so cold that day, but it was worth it. It was beautiful outside.

Ryan's Pop-pop (Grandfather) went to be with the Lord last week, so that was a sad time for him. I wish I could have met him, but I will someday. His life seemed full and purpose filled. I'm sure everyone who knew him will miss him. We went to Massachusetts for the funeral over the weekend (26 hours of driving in 48 hours). It was a fun trip. Bittersweet, but it was nice to meet the family. (Now, I wish I had a pic of Ryan and his Pop-pop to post.)

It's interesting that I haven't had very many best friends in my life and that within a year, Ryan has become the best friend of my life.... literally and in so many ways. It's great having a husband, but to have a husband as my best friend.... that's irreplaceable. I'm very cautious about who I let in my life (well closely that is) and God just has the most amazing plans for our life even when we only see in part. This time last year I was just starting to talk to Ryan after church services and realizing that he was a fun guy.... now, he's still fun, but he's my husband. Don't give up on your dreams and definitely don't take second best because you're tired of waiting for something. If you say you trust God, then trust Him, don't take things out of His hands. He's got this. I learned that the hard way. If you're tired of being patient for something, then give it to God and stop being impatient; the dream is probably right around the corner.

Anywho, I guess that's an update of my life that I love.

Post wedding life

Wow, what to write. The last post was a month BEFORE my wedding. Let's see. If you want to see pics, you need to look me up on Facebook under Mary Hallquist.

The wedding week was really smooth. I had Thursday and Friday off before the wedding, so that helped a lot, but the over all process and day went VERY stress free. It was literally the wedding of my dreams, but it was even better than that. I can say that about Ryan too. He is the man of my dreams, but he is even better than that. It's amazing what God will do for you when you give yourself completely to Him and let Him run your life. Ry and I still look at each other and say, "Wow, am I really married to the person I was just an aquaintance with 7 years ago?" and "This time last year we had barely said a few words to each other and now we're married."

(The above pic is when he met me halfway down the aisle and kissed my hand before we walked up to the front. Awwwww.) The wedding day was beautiful, it started at 5am for me. Got to the church by 7am. It was fun in the girls room, there were about 5 different "stations" going on at once. It was great! I actually saw Ryan before the ceremony. That was a precious moment for me. Once the photographers and the videographers got what they wanted, we were actually alone for a few minutes. It was very, very precious. Plus, doing it that way, we got to go take pics off location and that meant I got to spend most of my wedding morning with my hubby. :) I can honestly say that I didn't cry the whole day. I got teary eyed a few times.... well, more like 8 or 9 times, but that's it. I was proud that I didn't mess up Robert's make-up job.

Charissa did an amazing job with my hair. I had, what felt like, 5 extra pounds on my head with the hair extensions, but it was worth it. That and the ribbon looked awesome! Rhonda did amazing on Ryan's hair, he looked like a rockstar. If you didn't see Ry's tux, it was amazing! He was hot! Definitely not your typical groom. All my bridesmaids were absolutely beautiful and helped me out a lot. :) The groomsmen looked very handsome. Thanks girlies. Nicole did an amazing job helping coordinate things the night of the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. Geez. So many thanks and people who helped us. Erik wrote us an amazing song called, "Silly Love." Very cool indeed. I know there are a TON more people but you are not forgotten, k? =D

Yes, my Mom cried, but I heard that a lot of people did. Ryan and I read our own vows (which most people cried about) and he also made a declaration of covering over me too. It was definitely a God ordained ceremony and I know that He was smiling about it. :) I missed a few people who have gone on to be in eternity, but I couldn't miss them for too long cause I know they are happy and I was happy, so it was okay. I was so happy to have our family and all of our friends there to help us celebrate.

The reception was pretty amazing too. We had a semi-masquerade and walked into The Phantom of the Opera. I was in pain from my dress, but I just tried to force that aspect out and just have fun and have fun I did. I loved having my first dance with my hubby to one of our fav songs. I loved dancing with all of our friends to the Cha Cha Slide. We cut the cake but didn't eat it (we heard it was awesome though), we fed each other strawberries. :)

Anywho, it was an amazing day and I am TRUELY blessed with Ryan. Married life is amazing. I love him even more every day, even though that doesn't seem possible. I am filled with joy when I can come home to him. He makes me laugh. We pray together and have a lot of fun together. He's already been sick in this short time and I am happy to say that he is well and I enjoyed being able to be his wife and take care of him.

Oh, the honeymoon was great too. We went to Oglebay Resort in WV. It was great, it felt like we were the only ones at the resort, so anytime we went and did anything, it was just us. The breakfast was amazing! I enjoyed my vaca with my new hubby too.

So, there ya go. There's my life thus far. I'm sure I will have some more to post about in the near future. <3>

Wedding and life update 3

Wow, it's been a while since my last post.... I think.... I don't know. Time is at hyper speed and it's just going faster and faster. We are 36 days from our wedding. That's 1 month and 6 days. Geez, it's going fast. I feel like I haven't stopped. Well, I have a bit this week. I've had two nights of just straight rest. It's been nice. I needed it.

What's new.... everything. Ha ha Well, my dress came in this week, everyone at Alan Ray was gushing over it cause none of them have seen it in person (yeah, for those who didn't know, I had to drive to Lima to check it out in person cause they were the only ones in ALL of Ohio that had even 1 sample of the dress). I'm really excited to try it on, that happens next Tuesday.

We just ordered our masks yesterday. They are pretty sweet. We had our couple's shower last Saturday, it was sooo much fun! I will be posting pics to facebook soon. I have Ryan's family shower tomorrow.

I need RSVP's from people for the wedding. Ha ha The deadline is August 1. Come on people! ;)

We are also getting an apartment for now. We just haven't found the exact house that we wanted, so we will continue looking after a few months. It's in Canal, so it's halfway for everything for the both of us. Ryan will be moving in the first of August and I will be joining him after the wedding (obviously). Although, that brings up a conversation that I had with a coworker, she's younger and when I said we were getting an apartment and he was moving in, she asked, "Oh, you're not moving in?" And I said, "No, not until after we're married." Then she said, "Oh, okay." Not that people at work don't know what I stand for, it's just that people don't even think about someone not living with someone before they are married to even be an option. It got me to thinking that in earlier days, someone who was living with someone outside of marriage would be the outcast and now, it's "normal" for that to happen and that the "outcast" or the "different" point of view is to wait to live together until after marriage. How messed up our views have become. Just some thoughts.

That's really all that I can think of at the moment. Adios!

Wedding update Part Deux

I am still in total awe and amazement that God cares for His children so much to make someone who so perfectly compliments them in every way. Yes, that means that I am still completely and utterly in love with my future husband. I know that love is just going to continue to grow and strengthen with time.

Anywho, as far as wedding plan updates go. We put together about 85% of our invitations on the 6th. We will finish up next week and then they will go in the mail on the 25th. Can't wait for everyone to see them. (As far as ERC members go.... sorry, you will be getting a general invite through the bulletin. That's WAY too many invitations, but everyone is invited to the wedding, that's for sure.)

Let's see, we ordered Ryan's tux. Totally excited to see him in it! It's going to be awesome! We are definitely not the traditional or the norm kind of people, it's awesome that I got a guy like that! We will look absolutely smashing darling. (Said in my best snooty accent. Ha ha)

What else..... oh we went and took our engagement pics yesterday. I am sooooo excited to see the outcome. It was sooooo much fun!!! We had two different sets. One a little more dressy and then a casual one. John Yao is amazing (www.noahjoyphotography.com), so be looking out for those within the next couple of weeks.

Hmmm..... I think that's about it as far as updates go. This is all so exciting!!!! It's a blast planning our wedding. We are still looking at houses, so continue to pray as we search. We need to find one by the end of the month if we want to be in by the wedding date.

Grace and peace everyone! (Leave me some comments. I never know who reads this if anyone. =P Hee hee)

The plans I have for you......

So, this morning I was sitting here just thanking God for all that He has blessed me with in this year so far. Then that got me thinking, "Wow, am I really marrying this man that I knew 7 years ago?" Then God brought to my remembrance this scripture:

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."

God will never leave us abandoned and He will always keep His promises. Even when we don't know or even realize what He's doing in our lives, He's got it all worked out. For our good. For our welfare. Plans to give us a future. Plans to give us a hope. All we have to do is trust in Him. Not get too antsy and get ahead of Him. His timing is and always will be perfect. He's promised it to us, it's there, He is just waiting for HIS moment to give it to us.

The next couple of verses say, "12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

Did you realize that God listens to us? I mean, not just the flippant way that we listen to people..... you know, "selective hearing" and all that. No, it says that if we call upon the Lord and pray to Him, He WILL listen to us. It's not something to take lightly. Our prayers are heard by a living and ever loving God.

It also says that if we seek Him with all of our heart we WILL find Him. When we're in the desert times, God is there. We can find Him at any time. He's not some vast mirage. He's not just some "thing" in the sky. He's real and tangible. I know there have been times in my life when I didn't feel like praising God or praying to God, but when I did and I did it with all of my heart, He was right there, surrounding me. It's an amazing thing to have a God who loves His children so very much.

Anyway, I guess that's just it for right now. Wedding plans are going smoothly. We got the invitations in and they are amazing. Can't wait for everyone to see them. :) We are so excited!!!! We are in the process of buying a house too, so be agreeing with us on that. Love you all. Leave some comments! Grace and peace!

Wedding Update Numero Uno

Wow, I'm getting married. Some days it's still a little surreal. Sometimes Ryan and I will just look at each other and be like, "Are we really marrying the person that we knew 7 years ago?" Hee hee God is soooo good. I'm amazed daily by His goodness and mercy.

Well, wedding plans are in full force now. (Not like they haven't been since the 2nd week of March, but oh well, now I can talk about them.) We ordered my dress 6 weeks ago. It's amazing. We already knew we were getting married at ERC and we have had the reception place picked out for awhile too. The mother's all have their dresses. The bridesmaid dresses are picked out (gorgeous on everyone). The Jr. Bridesmaid, Machala, has her dress. Ava's is being ordered this week. We found the guys tuxes. Still looking for Ryan's though. Got his ring.... it's amazing... as cool as mine actually. The invitations are being ordered tomorrow and the list goes on and on. It really is an exciting and fun time. I know time is flying by and it will be here before we know it, but the planning is a blast!

Ryan is doing well, as am I. It's nice having someone there beside you in the journey. No doubt. We're looking for a house. We have our eyes on one right now. We're just praying that God will work everything out.

So, I guess there's a little update on my life of wedding planning. Can't wait!!!! 116 days! August 29th baby! Woo hoo!!!!

I'm engaged!!!!

So, we went to Rising Park in Lancaster for a picnic on April 17. It was a gorgeous day. I decided to take my camera to get more pics of us (little did I know that Ryan prayed that I would bring it cause he knew I would want pictures that night). So, we ate, had fun, took some pics of us. It was a lot of fun.

Then we decided to trek
up the mountain. Ha ha Well, it is. So, we

were having fun doing that too. We found a semi secluded spot, but the view wasn't the greatest, so he wanted to walk to the other parts, but there were couples at every crevice. So, he said, let's go back to "our" spot where we were before.

So, we were watching the sun set. Looking at the gorgeous view.
Hugging each other. Then I realized that his right hand had disappeared from around me and I didn't think too much of it.

Then we were talking about how perfect the night was and he said, "Well, then, I guess there's only one more thing to do." That's when he held up the ring in front of me and in between us and I covered my mouth with my hand and was like, "Oh my God!' Yes, I said it more than once. Ha ha Then he asked me, "Will you be my Isha?" For those who don't know Isha means wife/woman in Hebrew. I said, "YES!!!!" Duh, of course I said yes. God finally gave me the man that He created just for me. :) So, thus was our evening.

The diamond is a black diamond which actually is older than a white diamond. It's from space....a meteor to be exact. It's stronger than a white diamond and it's so perfectly me. I'm sooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our wedding date is August 29th at 1:30pm at ERC. Everyone is invited to the wedding. Hope to see you there.

Also, for those who want to know, we are registered at: Target, Walmart, and amazon.com (which you have to look under Ryan's name for some reason), we will also be accepting gift cards to these locations and monetary gifts (we are going to be buying a house too, so we're not sure what all we need, so cash is appreciated).

My friend Matt Berry

Hey, everyone, as most of you have probably already heard, my friend Matt Berry took his life on Friday morning. It has been a rough weekend for everyone who knew and loved Matt. That is for sure.

I've never been close to someone who has taken their life, so this has been pretty hard for me to deal with. When I heard, I was in shock and then I just cried for a good 30 minutes and just prayed for his family and friends. All throughout the rest of the night it would just hit me so hard that I would either tear up or start crying all over again. Sunday morning was hard to with everyone asking questions. I can hold up pretty well as long as I don't have to talk about things or think about them. I'm sure you all know how that is though.
I loved Matt, he was someone who could always brighten my day. Always saying something silly to make me laugh until I cried. His laugh was contagious, it made everyone around him join in even if they didn't know what he was laughing about. He was straight forward and genuine. Never beat around the bush. I loved debating with him about things cause no matter what, we could still be friends after the fact.

Gosh, he was a true friend to me for a season. Where we were both going through hard times and encouraging each other despite the situation. I learned more about his life then ever during that time. Enough to know that he was a really good guy.

I can still hear his laugh in my head and see his face. I remember him coming over and eating dinner or Sunday lunch with my family. I remember sitting on the back porch in the summer and just talking about stuff. Ohhh or our weekly trips to Rita's on Tuesday's that summer. So much fun. I'm glad that God granted me those moments with him.

Anyway, I would ask that you all be praying for the family and for his friends who knew him well. That God's exceeding grace and peace be upon them. That God would comfort them during this time. I know it's a rough time for everyone. Matt will always be remembered and loved.

Just wanted everyone to know that I am..........

No, I'm not engaged. Geez. =P Ha ha Gottcha.

No, I figured that I would write a short post on what is going on in my life. Things are amazing. I never, ever, ever thought that I could be so blessed with such an amazing guy in my life. He brings joy to my life and it's great to just do the little things with him: walking in the park, going on a drive, etc. I love his commitment and security in God. I love how he just loves to be with me and likes to take care of me. Yes, ladies, men like this DO exist.

A note to all the single people out there.....again, and I cannot stress this enough.....waiting for the right person is sooooooooooo worth the wait. I'm not kidding. When I finally gave everything over to God and just said, "Hey God, here ya go, I'm not worrying about this anymore and I'm just gonna do whatever You tell me to do." That's when He started moving in ways that I never thought were possible.

My family and my friends love Ryan and love us together. That is such a blessing too. You have no idea. We went to KY this past weekend for him to meet my Dad and Sharon and everything went really well. I am sooo excited about what God is doing!!!!

I will keep you all updated. <3

Amazed

So, as I'm writing this blog, I never would have thought that I would be putting up a pic of me and my best friend and saying that I am now dating my best friend, but I am.
I have had multiple requests asking me about how this all happened, so I figure since this is my blog, I will write about it. (See how many people are REALLY reading this.....aka I expect comments. Ha ha)

About 7 years ago, Ryan started coming to ERC and at the time I was a youth leader. So, he was just an aquaintance at that time. I remember him and he remembers me, but we never hung out or anything. Then he felt led to go somewhere else about 5 years ago. Little did we know that God was just allowing us space to grow and mature. :)

I believe it was September (Ryan's proofing this before I post, so yeah, around then...ha ha) Ryan started coming back to ERC. I didn't notice him at first cause he sat on the other side of the sanctuary. My sis mentioned it to me one day though and asked if I had seen him. Then, he came over to the promise land....ha ha just kidding....he did come to sit on our side though, so I said hi, he said hi. Thus started the beginning of what God was getting ready to do. We started talking after service.....a lot. I finally got up the gall to ask for his e-mail, which I didn't use until a month later. What can I say, I was a little shy. With the e-mails/IM's started a friendship that will stand the test of time. I'm not kidding. It was and still is wonderful. We have hung out every weekend since Christmas weekend and that's been great too. I had so many people asking if we were a couple and I would always say no. (I guess I was in denial.)

Then we get to a month ago........I started liking Ryan. I DID NOT want to. I have this tendacy to fall for my best guy friends. So, I was praying about it and God said for me to be patient and wait. To not do my usual thing and go tell him and to not initiate anything either. It was hard, but the reward far exceeds anything I could have ever hoped or dreamed of.

March 1st...early in the morning....after we had watched 3 movies.....I was like, "Well, I guess I'm gonna go." (I wasn't too happy, cause I was really hoping that he would have said something by then.) Then he said, "So, how long are we gonna do this just friends thing?" I replied, "I guess that all depends on you." So, at that point we became "official." It has been a joy and a peace and a love (yes, I said love) that I have never known. God's hand is on this and I am amazed that God would love me so much to make someone just for me. Someone who "fits." I always heard people say, "Oh when you know, you know." I never understood it until now, but it is true. I can't explain it, but when you know, you know. It is the most amazing feeling in the world to know that God gave you His best (that's what He told me on my way home that morning). When everyone is in agreement with the relationship and feels a peace about it and is excited about it right along with you.

So, my advice to all the single ladies and guys out there.....it is SO worth the wait. When you finally give EVERYTHING over to God and tell Him to take care of it. That's when God gave me Ryan. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever expected to be with him, but God knew exactly what we both needed and God answered EVERY prayer that I had prayed for what I wanted in a guy, not even that, He gave me more. I am amazed and thankful to my God, my Savior, my King, my everything!!!! I am also thankful for Ryan, for waiting for me and for loving me.

Patience

So, I always think it's great when people are like, yeah, God's taking me through a season of patience. I think God has had to take me through multiple seasons of patience because I never quite got what it was about. Ha ha

Well, lately, I had been in a season of patience. It was one of the hardest, yet easiest ones that I have ever had to go through.

At the beginning of the year, I didn't make "New Year's Resolutions," but I did make some promises to God. I think that's more powerful anyway. A few of them were to get into a healthier state physically, take more risks, to just be open to whatever God wanted for me, and all that good stuff. I was finally to the point in my life where I was content where God had me and so I was joyful all the time. I was able to take things in stride and just be patient. Not doing anything unless God told me to on certain issues.

Then came the testing. Ha ha God was pretty much like, if you want this to happen, then you are going to have to let go. Not the way that you usually handle things, but let Me handle things. So, I'm like, okay God, whatever You say. So, I took my hands off of a situation that started out to be not so difficult to take my hands off of. I was tempted to do/say some things during this season, but God would always check me and tell me no. So, I obeyed. I am so happy that I did. I admit that this past week was probably the hardest, but it's always the hardest right before things turn around.

All I gotta say is that it pays to be patient and to truly take your hands off and let God do His thing. It's turned out way better than I could have ever expected. If you have seen my myspace/facebook status, then you probably know what this is about, but I tell you. When you let God do it and it's done right.......it's amazing! :)

Amilo tutto! (What language is this? Do you know what it says?)

Death

Above: My sis, Mamaw C., and me

Above: My Mamaw C and me

This is a post from my myspace on February 24, 2008. My Mamaw C. passed away on February 22, 2008. I still have my moments where I miss her terribly, but that's okay. You wouldn't miss or think of someone that you didn't love dearly. :)

So, when you have a death in the family, of course it makes you reflect and think about all sorts of things. My life since I found out my Mamaw C. passed away on Friday morning has been so emotionally draining that it's ridiculous. It's not just because of her death, but it's a lot of things going on in my life all at once.

I have realized that some people are not what they seem, I have realized that there are people in my life that I am happy to have beside me during a storm, I have realized that family is one of the most important things in this world, I have realized a lot about myself too.

We had a purity conference this weekend too. It was great actually. Just needed to give mention to that.

Anyway, my Mamaw C. was one of the most caring, loving, compassionate, amazing, stubborn, hard-headed, determined, wouldn't hurt a fly, loved Jesus with all her heart women. She amazed me all the time. So, yesterday while going through some of her personal items and pulling out stuff that made me smile because of certain memories, I could only think of the fact that the world is only temporary. Thankfully.

What have I done to make an impact in my world? It's not just what you do in your past, but what did you do today or even this past week that has made an impact? I said I had been very comtemplative today, so bear with me. I do have somewhere to go...........

Anyway, while I was at the funeral today and with all the old hymns and everything that was playing, I expected to only be thinking of my Mamaw, and I was, but you know what I was honestly sitting there balling my eyes out about? My family. My unsaved family. I was crying out to God that my family would be saved. That my Dad would FINALLY see the truth. I seriously could have just ate some carpet during the funeral and prayed. That's how strong the burden was at that time. My Mamaw, I am going to miss her dearly, but I will see her someday and she is happy being in Heaven, running on streets of gold, talking with Jesus, and being with her husband, son, brothers, parents, family members, and friends that were already home. I can't be sad for her. She's not suffering anymore.

Anyway, I wrote this for two reasons. 1.) Maybe you, the reader, can understand/feel what I am trying my best to say. That you would realize that you're not alone in your desire to make a difference and to do more, to care more, to pray and cry out to God more. 2.) For me to remember this day. That today there have been revelations and reminders. Today, things are going to change.

Love you all and thanks for reading if you did. :)
