Wow...

So, this snow and ice combo has been ridiculous. I'm sure that there are some who got hit a lot harder than good ole' C-bus, but still. It was nuts. I'm glad I had the brains to put in a leave slip ahead of time for yesterday. I was pretty much stranded. Ha ha At least we had our electricity, some of my friends were not so fortunate.


Let's see, anything else new going on in my life? I went to KY last weekend. In tow was Ava and Jasper. We had a blast. I have my pics up on myspace and facebook. It was a great time with family. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. :)


On Sunday, I finally got to hang out with Jenn and Brandon. Geez. It had been way too long. Ryan joined us too. So that, as usual, was good times.


Monday I hung out with the Penha's. It had been a long time since that had happened too, so that was fun. Max (Heather's dog) is Jasper's dad and they LOVE to play. I mean, we're talking non-stop for the duration of my stay (about 5 hours).


Also, I'm getting prepared to speak at our first GGWM Charter meeting of the new year, so I'm excited about that. We have a lot of fun stuff planned for the girls. I'm going to be talking about V-day. Go to next paragraph.......


So, for those of you who know me pretty well, you know I am pretty much anti-V-day. That still stands true. Would my outlook change if I was dating someone? Honestly, probably not. Ha ha Isn't that horrible? My reasoning is this: it is a made up holiday that has nothing to do with the true origins of St. Valentine. It's a Hallmark holiday that helps people spend money. I'm excited for those of you that do celebrate and have someone to celebrate it with. I'm content with not doing something, but then there are the other single girls/guys who feel so left out when they don't have a V-day date. Depressed and suicidal...you get my point. I honestly used to be there......a long time ago obviously. ;) I guess I can leave it at that. Just my personal rant. Isn't that what a blog is for anyway?


Well, I guess that's really it for now. I know that toward the end of February it is going to be a little difficult for me. For those who are around me, please bear with me and pray for me. February 22 will mark the 1 year mark after my Mamaw C's death. I am so happy she is in Heaven with no pain, no suffering, and she's with loved ones and most importantly THE ONE, but as a human, I still miss her.

Not going back...

You know how people say that you shouldn't look back that you should always look forward? How hindsight is 20/20? How that if you're continually looking in the rearview mirror that you miss something that's right in front of you? Yeah, I have heard them all and I agree with that, but I also think that sometimes you have to take a glance back and just see how far you have come.


This Sunday was somewhat of a milestone for me. I don't have to go into the how and why. If you know, then you know, if you guess, then okay, but in all honesty, it was a milestone. One that the devil tried really hard with attacking my mind and emotions with on Saturday night. I will tell you though, it was A LOT easier to tell him to shut-up and I got over it.


God's restoring power. I'm tellin' ya....God is just downright the most amazing relationship I have EVER had.


Anyway, back on track, while I have been thinking and digesting a lot of information this week and just reviewing somethings, obviously you look back and usually when you look back your response can be one of two things. 1. What happened? How in the world did I get here? I can't believe that that one thing that I did wrong led me to this point in my life. I need out! (Been there) 2. Wow. What happened? How in the world did I get here? I can't believe that God has brought me this far when two years ago I didn't even think I could make it another day. I am restored by the literal and powerful grace of God! (Where I am today.)

So, I know, it's been awhile......

Sorry about that everyone! It has been awhile since I wrote. I said I would "try" to keep up with this blog. Things just seemed to get in the way, well life did. Ha ha

Let's see....the holiday season was great for me. Good times with family and friends. I also got a puppy!!!! He is a miniature schnauzer and his name is Jasper. Yes, the name was taken from the Twilight books. I'm nuts. I know. That's why you all like me though, so no changin' here.


So far, 2009 has been great. I really can't complain. God brought some amazing friends into my life starting in August of last year. So, it's been great getting to hang out with them. I'm excited for my friends and their new relationships too. God is too good!


I'm looking forward to the things to come in 2009 too: strengthening my relationship with God, weddings to go to, cruises to go on, building GGWM/Jr. Youth, having a lot more fun and not stressing about things, getting in shape, strengthening my friendships, and just doing whatever it is that God has for me.


Maybe, if I don't have time to actually write something for my blog from now on, I'll just post an old one from my myspace account. That's a thought.
